There are only a handful of states in America that have decided to alter the rules that control the natural gas industry. Known as ‘unbundling’, this process allows consumers to decide their own deregulated natural gas services.
In Florida, gas is deregulated, meanwhile, electricity is not. Consumers are assigned to one of two providers in the service territory, one being Central Florida Gas (CFG). In the state, the choice of supplier is only available to roughly 19,000 Central Florida Gas (CFG) customers.
Even if customers choose to use another supplier, FPU continues to handle the delivery of natural gas to homes and businesses. If the consumer decides to buy natural gas from a third-party supplier, two bills will be issued.
One bill will be from FPU. This bill is for the delivery of natural gas. The second bill will be from your selected provider, covering the purchase of natural gas, as well as any additional costs.
