The Kentucky Public Service Commission announced the deregulation of natural gas in 2000. The Kentucky Customer Choice program allows both residential and small commercial customers located in the Columbia Gas of Kentucky service area to decide who their energy provider is.
Consumers that decide to buy natural gas from another supplier will continue to receive the same services as before, such as meter readings and safety checks from Columbia Gas. As the market is competitive, there are chances that you can save money, as well as gain extra benefits from other companies aiming to get you on board.
